position openings, ensuring City-wide consistent personnel policies,
monitoring regulations compliance and maintaining employee
records.

HOURS: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
DEFINITION Will have public contact with customers either over the phone or those who come into the business office for payments, service requests, or information. Process written applications, terminations or changes on customer accounts. Perform record keeping activities, which involve receiving funds and issuing receipts to customers. Must use independent judgment when dealing with the public, solving problems associated with balancing, correcting errors, managing the fluctuations in the daily work load and solving problems related to customer accounts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB Assist the public at the counter or over the telephone pertaining to customer accounts and problems. Schedule water meter installations and make appointments to get readings. Receive and record fees collected through mail or over the counter. Examine records and reports for errors. Check credit rating on customers and mail credit references. Prepare payment plans on computer. Process delinquent account cut off lists on a weekly basis. Collect funds received from general public through the night drop, mail, and drive-thru and in person. Count and balance cash receipts, prepare and make bank deposit and prepare financial reports and summary statements. Prepare totals for data processing and track and collect NSF checks.
QUALIFICATIONS 1. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED 2. Must possess reasonable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures 3. Must possess speed, skill, and accuracy in performance of job 4. Must have experience with cash register and calculator 5. Must have experience with IBM display stations 6. Must have experience with multi-phone lines 7. Must adhere to a drug screening
