Marker Honoring Freddie Fitzsimmons To Be Unveiled June 29

Last month, the City of Mishawaka installed its first historic marker at 524 W Grove Street, which has been identified as the family home of baseball pitcher Freddie Fitzsimmons. The community and news media is invited to the official unveiling Thursday, June, 29, 2017 at 10 am. Mayor Dave Wood, members of the City Council and Historic Preservation Commission will be in attendance along with the property owner Rafael Munoz and local historian Pete DeKever, who provided the background information on Freddie Fitzsimmons.

The next American Heritage Roundtable discussion will take place May 12, 2017 at 6:30pm in the Spencer Gallery at the Mishawaka Library, 209 Lincolnway East. Discussion will center around "Mishawaka Memories."

The next American Heritage Roundtable discussion will take place March 9, 2017 at 6:30pm in the Spencer Gallery at the Mishawaka Library, 209 Lincolnway East. The featured presentation will be on the 1893 Columbian Exposition (Chicago World's Fair) presented by Ed Chamberlin.
