The Mishawaka Investigations Bureau continues to carry on a long history of exemplary investigations in the City of Mishawaka. Investigations Bureau consists of sixteen investigators, who are assigned to both general and specialized investigations and a bureau chief. The Investigations Bureau is responsible for the investigations of crimes that occur with in the City of Mishawaka Crimes ranging from petty theft and criminal mischief to bank robbery and aggravated battery are investigated. A recent increase in identity related crimes have provided new challenges to the Investigations Bureau.

The Mishawaka Police Investigations Bureau also has detectives assigned to several county metro organizations such as Saint Joseph County Metro Homicide, Saint Joseph Family Violence and Special Victims Unit and the Metro Narcotics Unit.
