Ryan, Majewski To Fill Retirement Vacancies

Mishawaka Mayor David Wood has announced that Tim Ryan and Dave Majewski will fill the vacancies created by the retirement of two, long-time City of Mishawaka employees - Ronald "Mike" Watson, Street Commissioner/Director of Central Services, and Bruno Trimboli, Water Division Manager for Mishawaka Utilities.

Mishawaka Police Officer of the Year For 2013

Mishawaka Police Chief Ken Witkowski has announced Sergeant Louis Beehler as the "Officer of the Year" for 2013. The award recognizes Sgt. Beehler's tireless investigation of three suspects involved in numerous scams and thefts throughout St. Joseph County as well as his attention to detail in the performance of his daily job duties. "Sgt. Beehler can always be counted on to gather enough evidence and complete a very precise report," states Chief Witkowski. "His investigations are very thorough, leaving no stone unturned."

Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day 2014

In 2011, U.S. Senator Richard Burr, a ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs, encouraged Communities across the nation to establish “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day.” A resolution was passed unanimously by the United States Senate designating March 30th as “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” to honor the return home of our armed services members after serving in Vietnam.

Mayor Wood to Deliver State of the City Address February 17

2014 State of the City Address

Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood will deliver his State of the City address on Monday night, February 17th. The State of the City address will immediately follow the Common Council Meeting which starts at 7:00pm and will take place in the Council Chambers.

The theme that will be highlighted for this year’s address is “Our Formula for Success”. Mayor Wood will be talking about the City of Mishawaka’s infrastructure and improvements. The Mayor will focus on our livable community, quality of service and the quality of life in the City of Mishawaka.
