Summer Baton Twirling Classes
Registrations are still being accepted for the last session of Summer Baton Twirling for children ages 5-15. Classes start this Wednesday (August 15) at 5:00 P.M. at the Battell Community Center. For additional information, please contact the Parks Administrative Offices at 574-258-1664 or sign up in the Park Administrative offices inside Battell Community Center on the 2nd floor.
End of Season Dates for Public Pools
Merrifield Pool
The last day for open swimming at Merrifield Pool will be on Monday, August 13th. Adult lap swim will continue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. through that week, with the last day being Saturday, August 18th.
Mary Gibbard Pool
The last day for open swimming at Mary Gibbard Pool will be Saturday, August 18th with weekly pool hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 11a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday and Wednesday 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Battell Center Garage Sale
The Battell Center will be having a Garage Sale on Friday, August 10th from 8am-5pm in the parking lot. Space rental is $5 for a 10' x 10' space. Table and chair rental is also available for an additional $10. Set up begins at 7am the day of the sale. To reserve a spot stop in at the Mishawaka Parks Department Office, 904 N Main St. For more information call (574) 258-1664. Deadline to register is Wednesday, August 8th.
Public Input Session - Small Dog Area
The Parks and Recreation Department will be holding a public input session to explore the size, location, and amenities of a proposed small dog area within the existing fence of the Dog Park located at Prickett Marina Park. The session is open to all interested users of the facility, and will be held in the basement of the Battell Community Center in the Community Room on Thursday, July 19th at 7:00 p.m. A comment form with additional info is available here and can be turned in at the meeting or mailed to Battell Center at the address below.
