Since the Riverwalk’s inception, and especially now with the recent addition of Beutter Park, the number of walkers and visitors has significantly increased in our parks along the river. By increasing the available hours during summer months, more persons in the community will be able to enjoy this attraction.

All other parks will maintain the current hours of 7:00am to 10:00pm. These parks include Bendix, Borley, Hums, George Wilson, Henry Frank, Hillis Hans, Normandy Drive (Honor Island), Imus (undeveloped), Kate’s Garden, Laing, Mary Gibbard, Merrifield, Miami “Monkey” Island, and Temple. |

Chapter 98 of the Municipal Code for the City of Mishawaka (regarding Parks and Recreation) reads in part:
(A) The hours of operation of each municipal park shall be established by the Board of Parks and Recreation. The Parks Superintendent shall post the hours of operation in a conspicuous place in each park, and shall be authorized to enforce the closing of the parks by appropriate measures. He shall also be authorized to grant extensions of the closing time to the holders of park use permits for special functions as hereinafter provided.
