Officer of the Quarter - 4th Qtr, 2012
Mishawaka Police Chief Ken Witkowski has announced Cpl. Jeremy Tyler as “Officer of the Fourth Quarter – 2012”. "Because of Cpl. Tyler’s self-initiative and keen sense of awareness, two felony suspects were apprehended after breaking into the new Mishawaka Main Junior High Apartments. It was discovered that both suspects were also responsible for earlier crimes reported at this location," said Chief Witkowski.

MPD Gets Award and Grant Funding

Over the past few years, Mishawaka Police Department, along with Lakeville, New Carlisle, North Liberty, Notre Dame, South Bend, St. Joseph County and Walkerton has dedicated itself to decreasing the Driving Under the Influence (DUI) offenses in the community. As a result of their ceaseless effort and many hours for this cause, the Task Force has been presented a special award, as well as grant funding from the Governor’s Council to further their work. These Agencies form the St. Joseph County Traffic Safety Partnership.
